The Bishop of Savannah has delegated lay persons to assist the priest distributing Holy Communion whenever there is a large number of communicants. These men and women should have a deep devotion to the Eucharist and are trained in the proper distribution of this sacred, spiritual food. Each minister must be 18 years of age, confirmed and in good standing (attend Sunday Mass and holy days of obligation and receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation regularly). If married, the marriage must be recognized by the Catholic Church.
Membership is a privilege granted by the Pastor.
