This weekend at the 11:30 Mass we have 5 of our children receiving First Holy Communion: Lillian Chandler, Xavier Prentzler, Addison Sprague, Mathieu Weber, Andrew Young. What a glorious day it is for these young people! Today, they receive the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ for the first time. Almighty God becomes food and drink for us to nourish us for our journey to follow Jesus to the Father’s house. Our hearts are not troubled because we are strengthened by this food. Let us keep these children in our prayers this weekend and throughout their lives, that through the Eucharist, this Blessed Sacrament, they may always find strength in their journey of faith!
How beautiful it is to celebrate First Holy Communion on Mother’s Day! Holy Mother Church feeds us and cares for us by giving us this food, the Body and Blood of Jesus, her spouse and her head. Like every Mother, the Church cares for us and provides us with an environment to flourish, succeed, and grow! She gives us the liturgy to gather us as a family. On the table, the altar, she provides food and nourishment. Every mother does this for her children. Holy Mother Church does this for us. May we take advantage of her generosity and gift and never take her for granted.
Prayers for all of Mothers of St. Michael’s parish living and deceased. May the Lord bless you in your children and grant you much happiness.
