Summer is here!!
So says the Summer Solstice! We have noticed, however, that summer has been going on for about a month now and we are right smack dab in the middle of it! We are also right smack dab in the middle of Tybee Island, a popular summer hot spot!
What a gift this church is to the Island and to the many vacationers who make their way to the Island each summer! We welcome each visitor and thank them for joining us to worship our Lord.
One of the great characters of this particular parish is the amount of people visiting each weekend to worship with us. As this has always been a characteristic of this church, let’s pay attention to welcoming each person and making them feel at home in this Church – which is also theirs. As Catholics, we are at home in each Catholic Church. In a sense, every Catholic Church is ours, our home. Each of us no matter where we are from, what nationality, what language we speak are welcome in every Catholic Church because we are members of the Catholic family.
So, we welcome our brothers and sisters from everywhere especially during these summer months of vacation, relaxation, rest, and rejuvenation.
As we take our vacations, let us remember that our faith does not take a vacation! Find a mass, do not forget our Lord Jesus and all he has done for you! Return thanks. Even take your bible as part of your reading on vacation. Bring your daily devotional – Magnificat (
